Helio Micro Utility Powers The Tech
Project
The inaugural project for the Helio Green Energy Community Investment Fund was dedicated November 21, 2008 at The Tech Museum of Innovation (The Tech), located in San Jose, California. This 185 kWp solar power system is expected to generate approximately 270,000 kilowatt-hours of energy annually. It will reduce about 600,000 pounds per year of greenhouse gas emissions created by traditional utility power.
This project is a cornerstone to HmU's vision to create the world's largest clean energy utility distributed across millions of roofs.
Benefits
Through Helio Micro Utility's Buy Power Not Panels™ approach, The Tech was able to gain the benefits of solar energy with no upfront capital investment or ongoing maintenance responsibilities. The Tech received a complete solar installation optimized for maximum renewable energy production, and was able to lock in their utility costs while saving hundreds of tons of greenhouse gas emissions.
