Strong Progress on Global Climate-Related Projects Leads Citi's 2008 Citizenship Report

In Citi's 2008 Citizenship Report released today, the bank announced that the value of its wide-ranging portfolio of climate-related activities had reached $17.78 billion. The projects counted as part of the 2008 commitment total $3.98 billion and include:

-The Green Energy Community Investment Fund, created by Helio Micro Utility and Citi Community Capital, financed up to four megawatts of solar electricity production in 2008 to help fund the solar installation of power systems for commercial buildings, apartment buildings and public sector facilities through the U.S. with an emphasis on reaching underserved communities.

Canadian Solar Signs 5-MW U.S. Distribution Deal

Canadian Solar (Nasdaq: CSIQ) and Helio Micro Utility (HmU) have signed a 5-megawatt (MW) solar photovoltaic module purchase agreement. This agreement will expand CSI's U.S. presence while enabling HmU to accelerate its provision of equipment to its own projects and other installers.

Canadian Solar Inc. and Helio Micro Utility (HmU) announced a 5-megawatt (MW) solar photovoltaic (PV) module purchase agreement. Distribution will include the full line of Canadian Solar photovoltaic (PV) modules, which cover a wide range of power ratings from 0.03 watts to 300 watts.

Helio Micro Connects Tech Museum to the Sun

"Eight-hundred-and-three solar panels, tiled 10 degrees from the surface to get optimal sunlight, now sit above the Leonardo da Vinci exhibit at the Tech Museum of Innovation in San Jose, Calif. The 185-kilowatt system is the first project for Helio Micro Utility, a one-year-old company from Berkeley, Calif., that owns, installs and operates the system. The museum will only pay for the electricity generated.“"
